What is a facet hierarchy?

The facet hierarchy is the display of all terms in the facet in their hierarchical order. The hierarchy level of a term is indicated by the number of dots that precede it. For example here are 3 levels from the Mission and projects facet:

. Human Exploration and Development of Space
. . Station Programs
. . . International Space Station

Clicking on a term in the facet hierarchy returns the term record.

What is a term record?

A term record shows the complete information for a taxonomy term. The illustration shows all the components of a term record.

« Used For terms are alternates or synonyms for the taxonomy term. Note that Used For's are displayed in italics.

Clicking on a number or letter returns the Term Index of the current number or letter from the current facet. Note that Used for terms appear in italics, while taxonomy terms appear in regular text. Click on a term to return a term record.
